South plains community action association, inc. has programs such as:
- WorkForce Solutions South Plains administers Child Care Services (CCS) funding to help parents pay for child care while they work, go to school, or participate in job training to become self-sufficient.
Those eligible for child care assistance include those under the age of thirteen and:
- Whose parents are receiving Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) Whose parents have recently stopped receiving TANF benefits because of earned income
- Whose parents in job training programs such as Choices or those offered through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA)
- Whose parents are receiving Food Stamps
- Whose parents qualify as low incomes and need help paying for child care so they can continue to work or attend training
- Teen parents are from low-income families who need child care to attend school or complete a GED Parents qualify as low incomes and have children with disabilities
Community Services is a comprehensive plan designed to assist low-income participants to transition out of poverty and towards self-sufficiency.
This is accomplished through three (3) distinct services that assist participants through case management, information and referral and emergency services.
