The SOUL Foundation (Shaping Our Urban Leaders) was founded in 1998 as a result of several individuals having a desire to contribute to the well-being of our communities youth through community service, education, and charitable contributions.

These individuals were highly motivated by the need for programs throughout communities that would provide young men and women, with the skills needed to become productive and successful members of society.

The group's vision was to contribute to the continual growth and success of our children, hence forming the foundation and being committed to developing honor, respect, integrity, self-discipline, and character within our young citizens through educational programs, health and wellness initiatives, and social and athletic opportunities.

The SOUL foundation has since expanded the assistance for our communities.

Although they emphasize on youth development, they now concentrate on the global community.

They have to assist our global community at all times.

They can't wait for a natural disaster to assist our fellow citizens of the world, they want to be a constant hand in assisting those in need daily.

They have expanded our services to assist in emergency services, food assistance, child care and financial literacy.

The SOUL Foundation has spent several years working toward these commitments, it was only in December 2002 that they acquired 501(c)(3) status from the IRS.

Although they are recognized as a fairly new organization, our founder and those he chose to collaborate with to help him pursue his mission are dedicated to these initiatives and strongly support the organization, its vision, and commitment to serve the community.
